Living Water University believes that every person is created in the image of God and is to be treated with dignity and respect. In keeping with this conviction, the University is committed to maintaining a learning and working environment free from unlawful discrimination and harassment.

1. Statement of Non-Discrimination

Living Water University does not unlawfully discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, disability, or age in its policies, programs, and activities. The University admits students of any race, color, and national or ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students.

2. Religious Identity and Exemption

  • As a faith-based California institution, Living Water University maintains religious practices, beliefs, and standards consistent with its Christ-centered mission.
  • As a religious institution, the University is exempt from certain state and federal anti-discrimination laws and has the right to act in accordance with its religious beliefs, as permitted by law.

3. Prohibited Conduct

  • Discrimination — treating a person less favorably because of a legally protected characteristic.
  • Harassment — unwelcome conduct based on a protected characteristic that is severe or pervasive enough to interfere with a person’s participation in University programs.
  • Retaliation — intimidation or adverse action against a person for reporting a concern or participating in a review in good faith.

4. Reporting a Concern

  • Individuals who believe they have experienced or witnessed unlawful discrimination, harassment, or retaliation are encouraged to report it to University administration.
  • Reports are reviewed in a fair and timely manner. Retaliation against those who report in good faith is prohibited.
